#DogThanking was an initiative that Purina did as part of the National Dog Show in 2015. Using the hashtag and tagging @Purina in posts on social with a photo of your pet, triggered a donation. As part of his partnership with Purina and NBC every year, actor John O’Hurley shoots some spots to be aired leading up to and during the show. This year we were told we could use him for some social videos as well. However, we needed to get concepts together and approved by the brand and Purina legal quickly. Everything had to be ready to shoot in two days. We put together this idea and a list of scenarios we would provide for him to play off and thank dogs for. The result were some great little vignettes of John thanking some employee’s dogs in the park on the Purina campus.

Role: Producer
I helped develop the concept and write ideas to give to John to improvise on. Our videographer/editor and I scouted a couple locations on site and set up the shots. I then gave John the scenarios and some minor direction off camera when we shot. The last scene was all his idea though. It was a lot of fun to work on!
